Quite a number for an app that only launched in August 2018 (after migrating from Musical.ly which they bought). ByteDance, TikTok's parent company, has reported a surge in US users who joined during the pandemic. This puts it at about the same size as Instagram (there aren't official IG stats, but it's estimated to also be ~1B monthly users).
