Instagram is pausing development of Instagram Kids, after wide criticism.
Adam Mosseri, Instagram's CEO, said they are "pausing" the development of their new app for children, after criticism from parents, experts, policymakers, and others. During this time they will work with their critics and will also build parental supervision tools into it. Instagram acknowledge that kids are already lying about their age to get on Instagram (the policy is 13 and up) and that it's better for parents to have the option to give their children access to a version of Instagram that is designed for them.
