Cruise and Waymo get green light from California's DMV to start charging for autonomous robotaxi services offered to the public.
General Motors' Cruise and Alphabet's Waymo will begin to operate autonomous taxis in designated areas. Cruise without safety drivers present, and Waymo with. For now, they are allowed to charge for autonomous delivery services, but still need to get a permit from the Public Utilities Commission to be able to charge for robotaxi services. Link
