Snapchat Scan can identify similar clothes, dog breeds, plants, car models, nutrition label information, and more... turning it into a Shazam for the real world. Snapchat wants to replace Google as the place where people ask quick questions about things they see around them, like "what kind of plant is that?" or "who makes that shirt?". Scan also now recommends AR effects based on what you are looking at, which promotes third-party Lenses and incentivizes their creation. Link
