Apple changes plans for scanning iPhones for child abuse content as they admit they "jumbled" the announcement.
Last week Apple announced that they'll scan iMessage and iCloud photos for child abuse images. They now say they'll only search devices for child sex abuse images that have been flagged in multiple countries, after receiving backlash from privacy advocates and security researchers who say it could be used for surveillance or in government censorship. They say that the system needs to detect 30 images on a phone or computer before it notifies Apple for human review.
