Snapchat removes "Speed Filter" after US court ruled they could be sued for a fatal car crash.
Snapchat had the filter since 2013 and it let users show how fast they were moving and share it with friends. It had been connected to a few deadly or near-fatal car crashes, often with teenagers involved. Parent company Snap said the feature "is barely used by Snapchatters... And in light of that, we are removing it altogether". This decision could have vast implications for similar services like TikTok and Instagram. Link
