Internal documents show Facebook struggling to attract US users under the age of 30, with US teenage users declining by 13% since 2019.
Teenage users are projected to drop 45% over the next two years, driving an overall decline in daily users in the company's most lucrative ad market. Young adults between 20 and 30 are expected to decline by 4% during the same timeframe. If it doesn’t correct course, Facebook could, for the first time, lose out on an entire generation. Instagram remains popular with teens, but Facebook's own data shows that they are starting to engage with the app less. The internal documents are part of disclosures made to the SEC and provided to Congress by Frances Haugen, the ex-Facebook employee turned whistleblower. Link
