Intuit announced they're buying email marketing company Mailchimp for $12 billion in cash and stock.
Intuit said it will use the acquisition to accelerate growth among small business clients. There were rumors in early August that Mailchimp was exploring a sale for $10B, and sources said the firm also considered selling a minority stake. Ben Chestnut and Dan Kurzius founded Mailchimp nearly 20 years ago. Intuit's market cap is ~152B. Link
