US senators unveil Open App Markets Act, which would force app stores to allow sideloading and let developers use other payment systems.
3 US senators just announced the bipartisan bill that would require Google and Apple to allow installing apps from outside their official appstores, and allow alternative in-app payments in their stores. It aims to boost competition and protect consumers by restricting how the stores operate and what rules they can impose on app developers. This basically sounds like Epic's wildest dreams come true. And the biggest winner out of all of this will probably be Stripe. Link
