Facebook launches their newsletter platform Bulletin to take on Substack.
Bulletin is on a separate website and allows writers to publish free and paid newsletters. Surprisingly, subscriptions do not require a Facebook account. Facebook won’t take a cut from writers "at launch" and writers have full ownership of their content and subscriber list (writers determine the price of paid content). Substack takes a 10% cut of subscription revenues and Twitter's similar Revue takes 5%. Bulletin isn’t accepting writer signups yet and Facebook have brought on Malcolm Gladwell, Tan France, and Erin Andrews, among others for a beta period. Link
