A probe into an Amazon warehouse in the UK found that Amazon destroys millions of items of unsold stock every year, in order to save on warehouse costs. These include products that are often new and unused, including MacBooks, COVID-19 masks, jewelry, headphones, books, and TVs. A former Amazon employee said staff were given a weekly target of 130,000 items to destroy. British news outlet ITV filmed undercover footage inside Amazon's warehouse in Dunfermline, Scotland which revealed thousands of products sorted into boxes marked "destroy".
